I am a Danish artist based on the island of Møn, Denmark.

My work grows from a fascination with nature, material and the traces we leave behind. I am drawn to things that feel elemental — earth, pigment, clay, stone, repetition, symbols and marks made by hand.

A formative part of my visual language comes from the years I spent sailing in the Pacific. Living closely with the ocean, moving between islands and encountering different landscapes and visual traditions left traces that continue to surface in my work — in recurring patterns, organic forms and an enduring fascination with life beneath the water.

Today, living on Møn, much of my practice begins with materials gathered directly from my surroundings. I make inks and pigments from plants, minerals, rust, ash and chalk, allowing their natural variations and unpredictability to become part of the work. Rather than forcing a material to behave in a particular way, I am interested in what happens when I allow it to retain some of its own nature.

My work is an act of reduction. I am continually searching for what remains when the unnecessary is removed — in a form, a mark, a material or an idea.

There is something deeply human to me in working this way. By studying nature and working with its materials, I return to something unfiltered and instinctive; something that existed long before our need to perfect, explain or control.

My practice moves between drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and tattooing. Though the mediums change, the underlying exploration remains the same: the relationship between the human hand and the natural world, between control and chance, and between what we create and what already exists.

I make work slowly, intuitively and with an attention to material — searching for forms that feel timeless rather than new.
